Summer’s nearing its fateful end, but that’s not to say celebrities are ready to grieve the warmer days—or the manicures that came with them. Anne Hathaway is the most recent example. The actress, 43, just stepped out at the world premiere of Warner Bros.’ The End of Oak Street looking positively radiant in a baby blue top, a bright red lip and a subtle yet summery manicure to top off the look.
The mani was brought to life by celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik (whose client list also includes Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez, among others), who gave her what he’s dubbed a “coconut jelly gloss mani” using Essie Nail Art Studio Jelly Gloss Nail Polish in the shade Arctic Jelly ($13). The brand describes the color as “a soft white with subtle yellow undertones.“
As he does with all of his clients, Bachik prepped Hathaway’s nails with tools from his own Tweezerman nail tool collection before swiping on the color. This specific polish can be layered to make it more opaque, but based on what we can see in the photo, it appears Bachik opted for just one or two coats for a milky-meets-glassy finish.

Orange County, CA nail artist Ramon “Prince” Duran, who spoke to us as part of our September nail color inspo roundup, says he’s loving milky nude nails as a great summer-to-fall transition color.
